Senior Rendering Programmer

We are looking for a motivated Senior Rendering Programmer to work with a small team for our recently announced title, Superior. As a Rendering Programmer at Drifter you would work closely with many disciplines to implement and tune visual features relevant to our games and push the envelope of what is possible. If you've been looking for the chance to work elbow to elbow with some of this industry’s fiercest contributors in a nimble, quality driven environment, our door is open.  Come on in. 

  • Responsibilities
    • Drive optimization and performance tuning to achieve the highest visual fidelity possible on current and next-gen hardware platforms
    • Work hand in hand with the Art Team to develop and implement new rendering features
    • Analyze and address general engine problems that arise during the course of development on a new hardware platform
  • Requirements
    • Shipped one or more AAA games in a rendering centric role, or other significant experience in real-time rendering
    • Strong C++ skills
    • Experience with Unreal Engine 4  
    • Strong performance and optimization skills
    • Experience implementing rendering features in a real-time environment
    • Shipped console experience a plus

 


 

Senior VFX Artist

As a Senior VFX Artist at Drifter, you’ll be working with a small, capable game development team delivering cutting edge visual effects for our recently announced title, Superior.  If you've been looking for the chance to work elbow to elbow with some of this industry's fiercest contributors, in a nimble, quality driven environment, our door is open.  Come on in.

  • Responsibilities
    • Work with the Art Director and the immediate creative team to craft industry leading FX content.
    • Create, from Vision to EXECUTION, REALTIME VFX content for Environments, Characters and weapons.
    • Manage optimization of VFX in a technically constrained environment at a high level of quality
    • Be Point of contact and manager for any external FX resources
    • Mentor junior FX Artists
  • Requirements
    • Portfolio and reel demonstrating strong, realtime FX competency
    • Good communication skills and collaborative spirit
    • Able to work independently and self-manage VFX development
    • 5+ years of experience creating industry leading, realtime FX for AAA games
    • Capable of working in various styles across various platforms
    • Strong proficiency in UE4, Cascade and the Material editor
    • Experience with external particle systems and editors (Ie: Houdini) a plus
    • Blueprint experience in UE4 a plus
    • Understanding of UE4’s lighting system a plus

 


 

Senior 2D/UI Artist

As a Senior 2D/UI Artist on the Drifter team, you’ll be working closely with the Art Director, UI Designer, Community Manager, and Concept Artists tasked with creating Graphic designs for UI, in-game HUDs, menus, icons, consumer facing marketing material, prototype content, and more.  If you’ve been looking for the chance to work elbow to elbow with some of this industry’s fiercest contributors in a nimble, quality-driven environment, this is it!

  • Responsibilities
    • Work with the Art Director and Designers to craft the vision for UI Art inside the constraints of the project goals.
    • Work with designers and the AD to create in-game UI and HUD assets, from ideation through in-engine execution.
    • Support the Community Manager with 2D marketing content
    • Work closely with the art director to hit quality metrics
    • Work with other disciplines in achieving shared goals
    • Adapt to different art styles with minimal concept art
  • Requirements
    • Portfolio and reel demonstrating expertise in game and marketing graphic design
    • Good communication skills and collaborative spirit
    • High velocity, self-reliant content creator
    • Extensive experience in 2D content creation tools
    • Some rudimentary 3D is desirable
    • 5+ years of experience in AAA game development
    • Strong proficiency in UE4

 


 

Senior AI Engineer

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to work with a talented team on our next-gen cooperative shooter titled Superior. As an AI Engineer at Drifter you would work closely with all disciplines to help design and implement new creatures and behaviors in our games. If you've been looking for the chance to work elbow to elbow with some of this industry’s fiercest contributors in a nimble, quality-driven environment, this is it!

  • Responsibilities
    • Spearhead implementation and design of AI behaviors and features across the title
    • Work closely with design and characters teams to brainstorm, prototype, and iterate on multiple AI types, from low levels scraps to kaiju-sized boss monsters
    • Utilize and augment the UE4 AI development tools to facilitate rapid development of new adversaries
  • Requirements
    • Shipped one or more AAA games in a professional AI-focused role
    • Familiarity with behavior trees, navigation meshes (Recast/Detour), and other AI development tools
    • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 

 


 

Senior Environment Artist/3D Generalist

 As a Senior Environment Artist/3D Generalist on the Drifter team, you’ll be working closely with the environment lead, level designers and concept artists tasked with authoring environments, environment set dressing, environment props, textures, weapons, prototype content and more. If you’ve been looking for the chance to work elbow to elbow with some of this industry’s fiercest contributors in a nimble, quality-driven environment, this is it!

  • Responsibilities
    • Work with the art team to craft industry leading 3D content in a variety of styles
    • Create 3D content that functions well inside tight performance metrics
    • Work closely with the art director to hit quality metrics
    • Work with other disciplines in achieving shared goals
    • Adapt to different art styles with minimal concept art
  • Requirements
    • Portfolio and reel demonstrating expertise in real-time content creation
    • Good communication skills and collaborative spirit
    • High velocity, self-reliant content creator
    • Extensive experience in content creation tools such as Maya, Modo, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop, etc.
    • 5+ years of experience in AAA game development
    • Strong proficiency in UE4
